Track: Midwifery, Perinatal and Neonatal Care

Midwifery, Perinatal and Neonatal Care

The Midwifery, Perinatal and Neonatal Care session explores the full continuum of care from pregnancy through the early newborn period, bringing together the expertise of midwives, obstetricians, neonatologists, and allied health professionals under one comprehensive platform. This session examines the evolving role of midwives in delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, while simultaneously addressing the latest advancements in perinatal and neonatal medicine.

Delegates will explore best practices in prenatal assessment, natural birth techniques, and postpartum support alongside cutting-edge strategies for managing perinatal complications, neonatal resuscitation, and the care of preterm and high-risk newborns. A central theme of the session will be the power of multidisciplinary collaboration — highlighting how seamless coordination between midwives, obstetricians, neonatologists, nurses, and family support teams leads to significantly improved outcomes for both mothers and newborns.

The session will also address the implementation of family-centered care in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), the role of advanced technologies in neonatal respiratory support, strategies for promoting optimal neurodevelopment in preterm infants, and the critical importance of breastfeeding, early nutrition, and parental education in ensuring the long-term well-being of mother and child.
