Title: Growth differentiation factor - 15 (GDF – 15) as a biological marker of early pregnancy losses and its relationship with markers of oxidative stress

Abstract

This research has been conducted to investigate the level and the relationship of cytokine CDF-15 and markers of oxidative stress as predictors of non-progressive pregnancy. CDF-15 cytokine levels have been statistically significantly higher in the aspiration fluid and chorion tissues in patients of the studied groups, and low concentrations of the CDF-15 level in patients with non-developing pregnancy in the aspiration fluid and chorion tissues determine the role of this protein as an important regulator of pro-inflammatory molecules (p < 0.05). In addition, a decrease in the CDF-15 level negatively correlates with oxidative stress markers such as MDA and the antioxidant SOD, which suggests the role of this cytokine in the processes of preoxidation and the development of OS.
