Title: Active drainage of postoperative wound as a method for prevention of complications in posturative women in the postoperative period

Abstract

Introduction: Complications of a postoperative wound during cesarean section, such as seroma, hematoma with possible subsequent abscess formation, are one of the actual problems of modern obstetrics. There are preliminary results of the “Early drainage” method on days 1-3 after cesarean section. But taking into account the risk of infection with each attempt at seroma aspiration, we have developed an “Active drainage” algorithm to prevent postoperative complications in postoperative women with a high risk of developing postoperative wound complications.
Objective: To determine the indication of the use of active drainage of a postoperative wound at the stage of cesarean section.
Materials and Methods: The authors conducted a prospective analysis of the birth histories of 60 women (n=60) in the postoperative period. The sample was divided into 2 groups: the main group (n=30), through which the method of early postoperative drainage was carried out in 1-3 days, and the control group (n=30), which active drainage during cesarean section. An analysis of the birth history was made for the period from June to December 2023 on the basis of the obstetric block of the State Medical Hospital №2.
Results: Risk groups for the development of postoperative complications have been identified: (аntepartum rupture of membranes, рrepartum rupture of membranes; рremature abruption of the normally located placenta; bleeding in anamnesis, the presence of adhesions, re-entry into the abdominal cavity, overweight, extragenital diseases (diabetes, hypertension, preeclampsia), emergency cesarean section, which are indicated for preventive method of active drainage of a postoperative wound. The use of the active drainage method made it possible to significantly reduce the risk of postoperative work in postpartum women.
